Hospice sends a nurse. It does not send someone to be there at three in the morning. That gap is where families break. Our caregivers work alongside your hospice team — handling comfort, presence, and the ordinary work of the house — so the family can stop being staff and go back to being family.
Non-medical hospice support is in-home caregiving that works alongside a hospice agency, not instead of it. Caregivers provide comfort care, repositioning, mouth and skin care, feeding, linen changes, overnight presence, and support for the family. The hospice nurse manages medication and clinical decisions; Personal Touch Home Care covers the hours in between.
Someone awake and in the room. Overnights, weekends, and the long stretches between nurse visits when families are most afraid to be alone.
Repositioning for pressure relief, mouth and lip care, gentle bathing, clean linens, and keeping someone clean and warm and unhurried.
Offering what still appeals, thickened liquids or ice chips as directed by the hospice team, and never forcing food on someone who is done with it.
Meals, laundry, a clean kitchen, a chair pulled up, coffee at 2 a.m., and someone to tell you what you are seeing is normal.
We follow the hospice plan of care and call the hospice line when something changes. Medication, symptom management, and clinical decisions stay with the hospice team.
Music, prayer, rosary, quiet, a certain blanket, a certain window open. We ask, we write it down, and we honor it.
Personal Touch Home Care is not a hospice agency and does not provide nursing care. We do not administer medication, manage a morphine pump, or make clinical decisions. We are the hands and the presence in the room, working alongside the licensed hospice provider your family has chosen.
Yes, and that is the most common arrangement. Hospice covers nursing, medication, and equipment on a visit schedule. Our caregivers cover the hours in between — including overnight — so someone is always present. The two services are designed to work together.
No. We are a private-pay, non-medical home care company. We do not provide hospice, skilled nursing, or medical treatment. If your family has not yet chosen a hospice provider, we can tell you what to ask them, but the hospice election is yours to make with the physician.
Yes. We staff overnight and continuous 24-hour presence in Las Cruces and the surrounding area. Call (575) 639-3341 — tell whoever answers that it is end-of-life, and we will move as fast as staffing allows.
Call and describe what is happening at home. We will tell you what we can do, what we cannot, and what it would take.
