Do you provide in-home care in the South Valley?

Yes. Personal Touch Home Care serves the south Doña Ana County villages — Vado, Mesquite, La Mesa, San Miguel, Berino and Chamberino — with non-medical in-home care including personal care, meals, medication reminders, overnight shifts and continuous 24-hour care.

Care in the South Valley

These villages get treated as an afterthought by agencies based in the city, and families here know it. The usual experience is being told yes on the phone and then finding the schedule quietly falls apart after a few weeks.

We would rather set the expectation correctly at the start. Distance is real, and it means longer shifts are usually a better arrangement out here than several short daily visits — you get more care for the money and it is far easier to staff consistently. If that is not what fits your situation, tell us and we will be honest about whether we can hold the schedule.

Spanish is the first language in many households along this stretch, and being able to talk through a parent's situation without a translator is not a small thing. We match language at assignment.

Each village has its own page below with the specifics for that community. If you are in one of them, start there — or just call and ask about your address.

Questions from the South Valley families

Will an agency really come out to Vado or Chamberino?

We will. Netty has confirmed she covers these communities. What we will also do is tell you honestly on the first call what schedule we can hold, rather than agreeing to something that falls apart in a month.

Why do you recommend longer shifts out here?

Because travel time is real. Three four-hour visits deliver considerably more care than five one-hour visits once the drive is accounted for, and they are much easier to staff reliably.

Is overnight care available in these villages?

Yes. It often matters more here than in town, since help is not close by if something happens at 3am.

Can a caregiver take my mother to appointments in Las Cruces?

Yes. From the south valley that saves a working family member most of a day, which is frequently the first thing that makes the arrangement worth it.

Personal Touch Home Care provides non-medical in-home care. Our caregivers assist with daily living, safety and companionship. They do not provide nursing, wound care, injections, physical therapy or any service requiring a licensed clinician. If that is what is needed, it is a home health agency, and we will tell you so.
